Bell Schedule

The bell schedule for CHMS can be found on our home page under the "student" tab, then "bell schedule".

Just to clarify any confusion with regard to the bell schedule, on your child's schedule advisory is listed as "zero" period.  Advisory starts at 8:15 am.  If your child has zero period PE, they will meet at 7:15 am daily.  

Access Achieve

Use Clever to access all our technology programs, including Achieve3000 and RazKids.  Use your DISTRICT Google email address (it must end with @carlsbadusd.net) and password to login.  Make sure no other users are logged into Google before accessing Clever.

SOAR 2017-18 After-school Program

Registration for SOAR for the 2017-2018 school year is now available. SOAR is a licensed after-school program for students at all three middle schools.The SOAR program is known for its experienced staff, academic support, varied enrichment offerings and convenient, on-site school locations. After School Tutoring

AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING CANCELLED 10/23 AND 10/24 DUE TO PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES.

After School Tutoring begins October 9th at CHMS and will be offered every Monday and Tuesday from 2:55pm to 3:55pm in Room #207. Mr. Dunn will be heading tutoring this year.  If you have any questions, he can be reached at barrett.dunn@carlsbadusd.net.

Coyote Dads Needed!

Calavera Hills Coyote Dads plan awesome events throughout the school year and need your help.

Dads from CHMS and CHE work together to help our school community by hosting a pancake breakfast (10/7),

golf tournament (3/11) , school beautification (4/21), and a campout (5/19).

Fall Sports Offered at CHMS

Sixth Grade Camp: March 2018

Sixth Grade Camp is a week-long Outdoor Education program offered through the YMCA.  Each year, CHMS Sixth Graders spend a week at Camp where they will experience outdoor science classes, high energy activities in group dynamics, personal challenges, and evening programs. Camp will be held at Camp Marston the week of March 19-23, 2018.  

Information packets will be sent home the week of of October 9th.  We will be holding an informative 6th grade camp meeting for parents and students on October 17th at 4:45 pm in the Coyote Cavern.

Attendance Procedures

We have been receiving several inquires about the proper procedures to call your student out of school early. If your student has a doctor appointment or personal appointment that makes it necessary for him to leave school, please send a note to or call the Attendance Office in the morning so we can issue an off-campus pass. Please do NOT bring the note to your teacher, it must go directly to the attendance office.  

  • This enables the school to account for the student’s whereabouts.
  • When a student has obtained a pass, the Attendance Office will clear the periods he is gone.
  • Your student may be waiting in the office for you to pick up, saving you time.
  • The school will receive full ADA funding for your student’s partial day attendance.

Include in the note what time your student needs to leave and the reason he is leaving (doctor or dentist appointments, personal reasons, etc.)

Volunteer Opportunities

PTSA Parent Volunteers Needed!

Our PTSA is always looking for parent volunteers.  If you are interested, please email our president, Melinda Lintner at melinda@calfirestopinc.com for more information.
